Like jute netting, straw blankets are designed for slope erosion protection and vegetation establishment. They are used to hold soil in place and promote the growth of new vegetation on all types of slopes, i.e. landfill slopes, drainage slopes, road slopes, and backyard slopes. Straw blankets prove extremely effective in retaining moisture and contouring to soil surface irregularities.
Straw blankets help prevent and control the natural displacement of soil in areas such as slopes, hills, channels, ditches, streams, rivers, yards, and coasts. For anchoring the straw blankets, the same type of landscape staples for jute netting can also be used to fasten straw blankets.
Our 70/30 Straw Coconut Blanket is made with 70% straw and 30% coconut. This mixture allows this straw matting to be used on steeper slopes (up to 1:1) and also increases the longevity of the straw matting to 2 years.
